Taiwan Indigenous Television (TITV) marked its sixth anniversary on July 1. This year, TITV hired a senior weather forecast presenter to train two Indigenous anchors, who are helping to present more accurate meteorological information for Indigenous settlements and regions around Taiwan. TITV also produced and broadcasted new programming this year, including two new dramas, as well as three lifestyle and variety shows that have been well received among the Indigenous audience.
Despite the challenges of source of funding and operation, TITV’s team continues to speak for Taiwan’s Indigenous Peoples time and again through programs, news and events. Not only is TITV reporting on the state of Indigenous culture and lives for the audience in Taiwan, but the station is also reaching a global audience through exchange.
Fueled by the same passion and sense of mission, TITV strives to present Taiwan’s cultural beauty, diversity and to share the pulse of its Indigenous society with new audiences in the future.
