From NITV. Thousands have gathered for the 26th annual Barunga Festival in South East Arnhem Land. The sporting and cultural festival, near Katherine, is growing each year, and gives the nations of the Jawoyn land a chance to share their world.
Kapa was what the Native Hawaiians call a dormant art. It was not lost, but um a lot of the knowledge was um not easily available. Ka’iulani deSilva shared her vision for kapa makers being able to come together and showcase their work on stage by outfitting a complete hālau in a performance.
